What happens next?
Understanding what is wrong with your home, and what it may cost to put it right is the first step. Get in touch with your local advisor. You will be asked to share information about your finances and about your home. If it appears that we may be able to help, we will arrange to carry out a survey of your home at a convenient time. Information about your financial circumstances will be compared to the results of the survey – we may be able to give you the reassurance that what is required is more minor than you thought, and help you see that you can pay for the works yourself. Alternatively the survey may show that the works are too expensive for you.
Get in touch with us using the contact details provided if you haven’t already. You must get in touch before you start any work to your home. We will be happy to arrange an appointment to visit you in your home at a convenient time to discuss your requirements. As a result of demand for the service, you may be placed on a waiting list. We will endeavour to keep waiting times to a minimum, and will keep you informed about where you are on the list.
The process will be explained to you and you will be supported throughout each stage. You will receive the help that you need to complete any forms that are required, and will be kept informed about how your request is progressing.
If we are unable to help, we will tell you at the earliest possible stage, and help you to consider what your alternatives are.
